Installation

  1. Download the Page Blocks plugin to your machine and extract the files.
  2. Create a directory called page_blocks in your WordPress plugins directory (by default this will be /wp-content/plugins).
  3. Upload the files to the page_blocks directory.
  4. Ensure that the page_blocks directory is readable and writeable by your webserver.
  5. Activate the plugin through the WordPress Plugins admin page.
  6. Once the WordPress Plugins admin page refreshes various messages will be displayed above the list of available plugins. Each message will have one of the following icons displayed on the left hand side:
    Blue Speech Bubble User information.
Green Tick The operation described was successful.
Yellow Asterisk The operation described was not successful. Check and rectify the problem to avoid any further potential problems.
Red Cross The operation described has failed. Rectify the problem and re-activate the plugin.

If the plugin installs correctly you should only see Blue Speech Bubble and Green Tick icon messages. If you see a Red Cross icon then the activation has failed and a log file (if one could be created) will be displayed. You can either copy and paste the contents from the plugins admin page or download the debug_log.txt file from the page_blocks plugin directory before visiting the FAQ page for further help.

If all has gone well, you can now go to the Page Blocks Usage page for information on how to start setting up your pages using the plugin.
